[full-time] Translator (Bilingual English / Portuguese) at Hyland Software

Hyland Software seeks a Translator bilingual in English and Portuguese.

The Translator is responsible for the entire localization process including the translation, proofreading and editing of software strings, marketing collateral, legal material and other business documentation. This role is also in charge of terminology research and dialog box resizing in the respective language. This position requires close communication with other departments in order to produce accurate translations.

Position Responsibilities:

- Translate and maintain software strings, Training material, Help Files, Module Reference Guides, Marketing material, Sales material, Web pages, Legal documents, and other written business documents and communications – Demonstrate a strong understanding of the installation, configuration, and use of the OnBase software – Build strong inter- and intra-departmental relationships, and provide quality internal and external customer service – Display strong ability to work with diverse group of people – Resize OnBase modules that have been approved for each market – Develop a solid understanding of the tools used to translate, resize and publish material – Develop and maintain a Terminology Database and Style Guide for the specific language – Maintain translation memory™ for the specific language – Provide same day turn around for translation or resizing Software Change Requests (SCRs) that do not require code changes – Review material translated by vendors or internal staff for technical, grammatical and cultural accuracy

Job Requirements

- Bilingual in English and Portuguese – Native level of fluency in the foreign language (written/spoken) – Experience in translation and localization of software and technical documentation – Superior writing, editing, and communication skills for the target market – Good attention to detail – Proven ability to manage multiple projects and assignments – Knowledge or experience in Translation Memory Software – Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Ability to illustrate software functions using pertinent screenshots – Excellent organizational skills – Ability to meet tight deadlines – Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that includes frequent software releases – Ability to cooperate with others to obtain required information – Flexible and motivated team player with ability to handle sharp learning curves
